Sandy Sorrells Bio

Starting a new school year is always an exciting time at Cascade High School. We are truly fortunate to be part of a community that shares a strong commitment to our collective success. Our dedicated staff and hardworking students embody the excellence that makes our school community proud. It’s inspiring to witness the collaboration between parents, students, staff, and the wider community, all working together to ensure every student’s success.

I bring 29 years of experience in education. I earned my Bachelor of Science from Middle Tennessee State University, followed by a Master’s and Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University. My career began in Lincoln County as a teacher, where I spent seven years before transitioning into supervisory roles. In 2010, I became Assistant Principal and Curriculum Coordinator at Lincoln County High School. I am now proud to serve my fourth year as Principal at Cascade High School.

My husband, Jacob, is the Director of Schools in Lincoln County. Together, we have four wonderful children: Abby, a C-130 pilot in the United States Air Force currently stationed in Abilene, TX; Hannah, a Biochemistry graduate from Mississippi State University living and working in New Jersey; Jake, an Ag Business graduate from UT Martin working in Fayetteville, TN at a local bank; and Hank, who is pursuing an engineering degree in his third year at UT Martin. We cherish quiet weekends on the farm and any moments spent together as a family.
