SCOPE 2026

Recently, student leaders from across Bedford County Schools had the incredible opportunity to join peers from across Tennessee at the Tennessee School Boards Association Student Congress on Policies in Education (SCOPE). This unique event is dedicated to elevating student voice and giving high school students a platform to actively engage in shaping public education.

This year’s SCOPE brought together students to tackle real-world challenges facing public schools across the state. Through mock school board sessions, collaborative problem-solving, and spirited debates, students stepped into the roles of decision-makers, parents, educators and community members. These exercises allowed them to explore practical solutions, share their perspectives and understand the complexities of educational policy-making.

Last week, we had the privilege of recognizing these exceptional students at a school board meeting. Their professionalism, insight, and leadership were on full display, and we could not be prouder of their accomplishments. Their willingness to speak up, engage in meaningful discussions and contribute thoughtful ideas demonstrates just how bright the future of public education truly is.

We are inspired by these young leaders’ dedication to making a positive impact in their schools and communities, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to shape education in the years ahead.
